Spotlight On: iSecurity Systems

Our Spotlight this month is on integrated specialists, iSecurity Systems Ltd.

We have worked closely with Elsenham, Essex based iSecurity Systems for a number of years and in doing so, have provided system design advice as well as the supply of products for numerous bespoke access control and intercom projects.

The Northern & Shell Building at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3 is an excellent example of this. As part of a phased office refurbishment programme, the owners of the building reviewed the tools available to the security personnel to enable them to maintain a safe and secure environment for approximately 5,000 people who work in the building, as well as contractors and visitors.

“The existing Geoffrey Access Control system had been in use for over 20 years and although it was still operating effectively, its functionality was limited compared to more modern solutions,” said Russell Morgan, Project Manager for iSecurity Systems, who have had a long term association with Northern & Shell Group.

Russell and his colleagues at iSecurity Systems worked with the Smart R Distribution team to supply a Vanderbilt SMS access control system and they also replaced the existing 140 aging magnetic stripe readers with new CIDRON access control readers which support securely encrypted DESfire EV2 contactless Smart Cards from Cambridge UK based Authenticard.

iSecurity Systems also installed a Comelit ViP video door entry system, comprising 8 door stations and 2 control desk positions, which they also sourced from Smart R.

In addition to countless satisfied end-user clients within the commercial sector, iSecurity Systems has also built an enviable reputation for the quality of its work when installing video door entry and intercom systems within residential environments.

“With the help of the Smart R team, we are always able to meet the requirements of our demanding clients”, said Russell Morgan. “An example of this is a recent project where we installed over 150 Comelit video door entry units throughout an apartment block located within Docklands.

“Although we regularly use Smart R as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for our access control and video surveillance needs, we particularly value being able to work with them when planning large or complex access control projects”.
